Bethanechol Chloride

The bladders muscarinic receptors are stimulated by bethanechol chloride, which results in an increase in bladder muscle tone and contraction. This enhances the bladders ability to empty pee. Medical uses: It is mostly used to treat non-obstructive urinary retention, neurogenic bladder, and postoperative atony (loss of muscular tone), which are all causes of urine retention. Bethanechol chloride is administered orally and is available as tablets. The patients condition and the doctors instructions will determine the dosage and frequency of administration. Abdominal discomfort, increased salivation, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, and flushing are typical adverse effects of bethanechol chloride. These negative effects are often minor and short-lived.
