Common Mahogany Plant

A mature plant, standing six feet tall, with a small head of dark green leaves and a thick trunk. Its light brown bark has been scraped away in places, revealing smooth, dark brown wood.This is a common plant with a rich history. The first known mention of the mahogany tree was in the Mayan language, which translates to "from the wood of the tree that causes the tear". The wood from this tree is often used for furniture, flooring, cabinets, and doors.
