Empty Gelatin Capsules

Made of pure gelatin. Pure gelatin is a natural source of protein, providing all 9 essential amino acids. Gelatin has a long history of use in foods, as it is the key ingredient in many jellies, puddings, and jams. Gelatin capsules are made by compressing the pure gelatin powder into a liquid state with water or aqueous solutions. The process is achieved by boiling the powder in water or aqueous solutions, followed by the addition of a cross-linked polymer, such as acacia, to the liquid gelatin. The mixture is then cooled to a temperature below the gelatins gelatinization temperature, and then quickly cooled to prevent crystallization.
