Mesalamine Tablet

Mesalamine, commonly known as 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA), is an ulcerative colitis treatment. It is commonly used to elicit or maintain remission in patients with mild to moderately active ulcerative colitis. Mesalamine may be used off-label in Crohns disease after surgical excision of the afflicted bowel.
