Natural Ammonium Molybdate

Ammonium molybdate is a naturally occurring mineral that is mined and processed into a variety of different industrial products. The mining and processing of this mineral is said to have contributed to the depletion of the earths molybdenum reserves. Ammonium molybdate is often used as a component of the molybdenum-disulfide-sulfate (MoS2) battery, a type of battery that stores energy in the form of a chemical reaction. The chemical reaction that occurs in these batteries involves a chemical reaction between molybdenum oxide and ammonium sulfate. The reaction produces ammonium sulfate and molybdenum oxide, which is then used to generate electricity.
