Progesterone is an important hormone in a womans body. It helps regulate menstrual cycles, ovulation, and uterine lining growth. It is also used to help treat symptoms of premenstrual syndrome and for prevention of post-menopausal osteoporosis. It is given by injection and by oral tablet.
